Get Hulu and Netflix from anywhere in the world
Some people have been asking me how they can watch Hulu or even Netflix in Australia or Thailand or well... any country that is not in the US, so I thought that I would make a simple little guide on how you can can Hulu.com on your computer or home media centre.
But first, what is Hulu?
Doing this is a very easy 3 step process that will get you all the Free TV and Movies online that you could possibly want! (go one further and get Hulu Plus and thats more TV than you could possibly watch), oh and you are not downloading it so there is no waiting or illegal behaviour either!
This streams directly to your device.
You can get it through services like hide my ass and that sort of thing, but you are always going to have MAJOR lag and it is only going to work through the browser.
If you want to use the Hulu Desktop Application or another program like Boxee or XBMC then this is the method that you will need.
STEP 1: Get yourself a Proxy IP.
A Proxy IP is basically another computer that lives in the US or UK that you channel your internet through. It gives the hulu providers the "apperence" that your computer is in the US (as that is where your IP lives), but all your doing is routing your internet through it!
I use the Anonymous Proxies guys for my IP, You have to pay $2.50 australian per month for one proxy, but it means that there is NO ONE else using that IP, so it is going to be fast and never drop out on you.
They do have a minimum of 5 (which is a bit of a bugger but, you can get one from the US, One from the UK (BBC I-veiw) and the others well, give them to a friend, but for $12.50 a month it is still well worth the expense.
Get a Proxy HereSo once you have got your proxy, you then need to get your computer to know what to do.
It is just as easy as the first step and if you are a smart cookie and I know you are, you can make is a super fast single click application from here on in.
STEP 2: Get yourself a Proxy Addon
You get the proxy switch addon from the following links.
Simply click the add the extention and it will add it to your toolbar.
Then in settings add your new proxy number (which will be something like 298.937.087.03) and your User Pass Port number.
You will also need to add well as your user name and password to the application so you are not always typing it in when you want to view and thats it.
STEP 2: Get yourself Hulu
The Very Last step is to download and install the Hulu desktop application and start watching Hulu from anywhere in the World!
(just remember to have your proxy on when you do to download or you will not see a thing!)
You can also watch netflix for online movies and Blockbuster for even MORE online movies and BBC Iview if you got a UK proxy.
So thats it, easy as that. 2 min later you are watching new episodes of Family guy or Jhon Stuart!
